DC fast chargers push high-voltage direct current straight to your battery, bypassing the onboard AC-to-DC converter. That's why they can deliver 50 kW to 350 kW versus 3–22 kW at home.
At a 150 kW station, most modern EVs go from 10% to 80% in around 25 minutes. Ultra-fast 350 kW stations (like Ionity, Electrify America, or Tata Power) can do it in under 15 minutes for compatible vehicles.
Before a road trip, use ChargeMine to scout DC fast chargers along your route. Aim for stations every 200–300 km, and always have a backup within 40 km in case a location is offline.
Charge to 80% (not 100%) on the road — the last 20% is 3× slower — and pre-condition your battery in cold weather for maximum charging speed.
